x PICTURES LAST LONGER. x [description] ;; A coat that you'd brush your hand across and get the hint that its a thick coat, to give extra protection from anything that seemed to attack like the freezing cold or even giving him a bigger appearance but this coat is nothing like that. A smooth velvet black that no one would mistake to be brown, 'cause it is plainly black and nothing darker or lighter. He carries every small little trait of a Great Dane, being pure blooded. Great Danes were bred mainly for hunting and working in coal mines. Looking at Rhino, no one could doubt the fact that he had worked in a coal mine; though he doesn't even know what coal is. The only other color on his body is white, on his underchest and his back paws only.
Given by his breed, he is a very tall dog. He is around 43 - 46 inches tall, and approximately 135 pounds. His weight it most likely given by the muscles that gleam with every step he takes. Every bone under his skin is strong and very well taken. He isn't the fastest runner, and has to be careful when he fights because of his fragile bones, but you'd be surprised what this dog can do. His legs are long and strong, but his speed is low. His bones are very fragile--most Great Dane bones are--so he must be careful what he does because he doesn't want to fracture or break a bone.
Most would take his bones to be extra soft, soft and they'd take advantage of that. Rhino won't allow it, but neither will his bones because they are strong bones just a bit fragile. After the secret of his bones most would assume he is useless in battle and will lose easily, but they are very wrong. His body is capable of keeping them safe. He isn't the fattest dog and when he lays down you can see his rips and back bones poking out of his skin just a bit.
All throughout his body it's thick. His head is very large, with a big skull, thick neck, and broud shoulders that all flow together nicely. His ears are flopped down to his sides, unlike some Great Danes that have pointy ears. His warn out flews are kind of droppy but it doesn't cause him to drool alot. His mouth is actuallty dry alot. Most probably wouldn't believe it but his eyes are ringed by a light baby blue. He doesn't pay much attention to it, though, seeing it hardly matters to him.
x MEANT TO RUN IN MY VEINS. x [personality] ;; His size, the look in his eyes, the way he walks, the way his voice lifts the air off of the ground. Everything about him is more than intimidating. Some dogs may not be intimidated by Rhino and others may be. Though, he couldn't care less. It is not his purpose to make others intimidated by him but does love the look on dogs faces whenever they are afraid of him. This faral Great Dane is a stern dog and most would so as much respect as they can around him. Well of course, its the right thing to do.
Rhino is a rough dog. He stands his ground no matter what and he isn't one to jump to conclusions but is really isn't one that will sit and talk over it either. He wouldn't prefer to fight but he is a short-tempered dog, though has learned to control himself. Sometimes. He is a very laid back dog but sometimes he can be a busy-busling though it all depends on what he has in mind.
He has his respect to females but when they did something wrong he isn't less stern on them than he would be a male. He believes that a misbehaved female is no more guiltier than a misbehaved male. He likes pups but finds them annoying sometimes, and the fact that the puppies find him a big jumping-on and chew-on toy. He isn't the type to smile much but even inside of his tough chest, he does have a heart--as every dog does.
Rhino is very good at putting dogs in their place and isn't afraid to do that if he has too. He believes he is the King of the Junkyard and makes sure everyone knows it too. Because of his temper, he can sometimes say stuff he doesn't mean and usually ends up regretting it after his anger had faded away. You'll find Rhino to be a bit rude and ignorant at times but once you get to know him better he is actually a nice dog, though he doesn't really show it much.
x WHERE MY CLAWS TAKE ME. x [history] ;; His yelps echoed through the tunnel, the two dogs standing over the small pup, starring down at him curiously. "Its a puppy," the german shepherd answered wisely. "'Tis a big pup," the other short and stubbly--perhaps an american bulldog--grumbled. "Indeed, in which its probably a Great Dane. It has the pup features in order to be one." The bigger dog leaned down and sniffed the whining puppy. "What should we do with it then?" the smaller one asked. "Its not an it. Its a male. And I have no clue." The other turned around and walked to the end of the tunnel, peaking his head around the corner and quickly turning back. "Someones coming," he whispered. The brown and black dog leaned down and picked up the large puppy. He wasn't going to deny this pup was a heavy one.
The two who had given him life, who had saved him whenever his mother was killed from a human. The human ripping her life from her claws with a sharp bladed thing in which he never knew if he could get revenge. And afterwards these two had come to save him from any distress, given him a new life and rebirthed him into the world where his mother should have been to show him the way. Instead these two dogs did his mothers job. He was nine weeks. Young and big, and his mother was gone. He was a pretty smart pup but was still in shock so he couldn't speak. But after awhile that changed. Raise and Todd.
"Its not going any farther than that."
"And who are you, Mr. I-know-everything."
"No, but by the looks of it I say thats not going anywhere else."
Rhino grinned as he watched the small American Bulldog, Todd, try and push the large barrel, full of bricks and rocks. Todd supposably wanted it near his bed so he could block the sun from his tunnel but it wasn't working very well. Over and over again Rhino had tried to tell him that it wasn't going anywhere, but he insisted on trying to move it. After a few hours he had failed. Rhino was now three months, not exactly but about. He wasn't full grown but he was pretty big. Todd wasn't affraid to point that out either. "How did you get bigger than me?" Todd snapped a bit, plopping down. Rhino shrugged, deciding not to answer because Raise had just returned. "Raise! I knew saving this pup was a bad idea." Typical Todd. Always a grump. That was him. Raise laughed, a laugh that was friendly and kind. "Go be a grump somewhere else. The sun just came out."
He got older and he didn't worry about his past much. To him it was better to forgive and forget. He didn't try and get revenge because there was so many humans. How could he do that? So he left everything that had happened; in the past. It was the right and best thing to do and why worry now because he wasn't alone. He had Todd and Raise for company so there was no need to try and go off when it was done and over with. He leanred what they were actually called because his mother heard them say that alot. Eventually she stopped calling them two-leggers and he picked up the habit. Of course, he wasn't sure where he had gotten that from. But he grew up with these two, they were good friends. But soon ...
He walked through the dogs, all the dogs on the side of him snarling and growling at him. Rhino was hated here. The Junkyard hated him and all the Junkies inside of it. He looked up to the Junkie Leader who was starring down at him with eyes that were stone. Behind him Todd was snarling back at the Junkies and Raise was flaunting himself, giving every female he crossed a little wink of his own. Rhino wasn't worried about them though. His eyes were focused on the leader. "There is a war, Rhino," the leader, a chocolate lab, announced to the whole gathered Junkyard but said it as if he were just talking to Rhino. "We need you." The howls around him errupted him.
... tragic struck. He was invited into the Junkyard, a place where he thought he was hated because he had accidently killed the leader, Rain's mate, Kakara. But it wasn't really an accident. The dog had threatened him and attacked. He did the same and found himself standing on a dead dog. Rain never spoke of what happened in the past but only what was to come in the future. A war that changed the way everything was. A fight that killed everything he had.
Claws raking down his back, yelping back and snapping the neck of a small dog in half. The blood spilled down his paws as a small dog dropped in front of him. Todd. He stared down his old friend, leaning down and nuzzling him lightly. His eyes were closed and his breath was s carce. "I've changed my mind, Rhino. Saving you was the best thing I've ever did." His life cut the lind and his lungs stopped, a the heart inside of his body stopped pumping blood. "Todd ..." he whispered, feeling his eyes sting. His head snapped up as a howl broke the air. Raise dropped to the ground and the blood around him seemed as though it was going to drown him. Rhino quickly killed another attacker that was ready to finish him off. He jerked around and ran to Raise but he was already dead.
And so he lost the two bestest friends he had in his whole life. He was corupted and devistated but he knew that they had died with honor and nothing but honor to fight for their new home. The Junkyard. To this day he still misses them and will never forget the two who saved him and have him a new life. A completely different life that he would have had if he still lived with his dead mother.
He growled, snarled, roared, and barked. Ripping his teeth through pelts and raking every dogs skin that he came in contact with. It was only until two certain howls sliced through the atomasphere that every dog stopped. Death was on the edges of each dogs tongue but they stopped and everyone looked at the middle of the war to see a dog just bite down on Rain's neck. "Rain!" Rhino howled, jumping up and leaping over as the Streeties tore away from the others and ran for a retreat. He looked down at Rain who was just barely alive as the rest of the wounded Junkies circled around. "Rhino..." he coughed. "Yes Rain?" he asked, starring softly down at Rain. "Take care of the Junkyard. Please."
And so Rain left the Junkyard over to a friend who had killed the dog he loved more than anything. He respected Rhino and Rhino respected him. He was the dog who taught him to forgive and forget the past no matter how much it hurts and how much it pains you. And now he is here, living in such a peaceful way even though the war between the Junkies and the Streeties still rage on. He'll never forget who he left behind in a war of hate.
